Research Data Centre
Dr. Alex Fenton is part of the Research Data Centre team at the SHARE BERLIN Institute. He leads the SBI’s work on regional and spatial statistics within the SHARE datasets.
He is a sociologist and gained his PhD from the University of Hannover on the topic of “Official Statistics and the Welfare State”, a historical sociological study of poverty measurement in Germany and the UK from 1970 to 2010.
His research addresses regional and urban sociology, the political economy of the welfare state as well as the political uses of scientific knowledge.
