Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) 

The Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) started in 2004. As of today, the study has expanded its scope from 12 to 28 participating countries, covering the entire European Union (EU). 

With its ex-ante harmonised data, the SHARE survey provides a solid evidence base for cross-country comparison. Research results are used to inform policy on global, European and national levels on a regular basis. With economic, political and societal changes becoming ever more complex, so the impact of comparative research based on robust data rises.  

Every year, the SHARE central team (which is based in Berlin) releases an Annual Activity Report (AAR) that serves as proof of activity and finance management for the European Commission. Additionally, it showcases the scientific achievements of, and developments from, the SHARE study.
